Revenge Of The Oily Chilli

I was greedy, very greedy.

After Wala, Shirlyn gave Brandon & me a treat at Crystal Jade. I had one and a half piece of carrot cake and one WHOLE pot of that oily chilli!!! Damn!!

The chilli took over me the next few days, I couldnt control the amount of times I had to go to the toilet! From solid, to liquid to nothing and a burning tummy! Shitty Chilli!

I have had the most ultimate burning sensation anyone could experience. I have learned my lesson well, dont mess around with Chilli, and Oil.. Dont!

You Get What You Give

I remember when I was a teenager, I always wanted to be a DeeJay, I saved all my pennies and cents and bought myself a simple DJ console set. Along the way, I met a very nice DJ, whom I lost contact with, who taught me with great patience. I was a very difficult student to teach, coz I have a very short concentration span and I cannot focus on the beats and I cant spin properly.

I was on the verge of giving up, he gave me a song and ask me to listen to the lyrics then he left SG to London. Till today, I never forgotten him and the song, its been a decade since I last saw him. The song is You Get What You Give by The New Radicals. Everytime when I listen to this song, I get very comforted, it seems like my DJ teacher has been encouraging me thru the lyrics of this song for all these years. I shall include the lyrics here to share and to remind myself to stand up straight no matter how many times I fall, never giving up. You too should check out the song lyrics.

You Get What You Give - The New Radicals

Wake up kids
We've got the dreamers disease
Age 14 we got you down on your knees
So polite, you're busy still saying please
Frienemies, who when you're down ain't your friend
Every night we smash their Mercedes-Benz
First we run; and then we laugh till we cry
But when the night is falling
and you cannot find the light, light
You feel your dreams are dying
Hold tight

Chorus:
You've got the music in you
Don't let go
You've got the music in you
One dance left
This world is gonna pull through
Don't give up
You've got a reason to live
Can't forget
you only get what we give

Four a.m. we ran a miracle mile
we're flat broke but hey we do it in style
The bad rich
God's flying in for your trial
But when the night is falling
You cannot find a friend, friend
You feel your tree is breaking
Just bend

(chorus)

This whole damn world can fall apart
You'll be ok, follow your heart
You're in harms way I'm right behind
Now say you're mine

(chorus)

Don't let go
We feel the music in you
Fly high
What's real can't die
You only get what you give
You gonna get what you give
Just don't be afraid to leave

Health insurance rip off lying
FDA big bankers buying
Fake computer crashes dining
Cloning while they're multiplying
Fashion shoots with Beck and Hanson
Courtney Love, and Marilyn Manson
You're all fakes
Run to your mansions
Come around
We'll kick your ass in!
Don't let go
One dance left

[unsaid lyrics from liner]
Championed by a soulless media misleading
people unaware they're bleeding
No one with a brain is believing
It's so sad you lost the meaning
Never knew it anyway
Human natures so predictable
I'm a fool to do your dirty work whoa, whoa

The Ego Has Landed

Its amazing how some people have the key to my hidden super-ideas, I dont have to speak to them, just by meeting them I get inspired! The endless amounts of ideas that runs thru my brain cells make me unable to sleep. I guess I am lucky to meet sincere peepz of the music industry. Thank you for being yourselves, you know who you are.

Advice is probably the only free thing people dont want, being a true blue "kiasu" , I picked up all the advice and be it good or bad, its free! You never know wadcha gonna get manz. As my thoughts scan thru the advices or things people say, I have learnt alot.

Ego is a "dog" that follows u around, dont let the "dog" eat up your soul! I admit I have been thru several ego trips, its inevitable. Afterall we are all humans and its easy to travel in the name of pride, but it really takes much more courage to stay humble and listen, I am still in the midst of struggling with that "dog", trying to tame it down and hold it under my control. And trust me, each time I try to be sincerely humble, I often get some kinda enlightenment!

Sadly I still do meet people who are flying on the ego trip for too long, my advice ( its free! ) is, fly all you want make sure you dont fly too long until you reached outerspace and get lost OR land down too hard to the deepest level of hell. My point is - Be humble, stay down to Earth. If you are trying, I will be fighting in this clashes-of-egos war with you, for a better us and a better world.

Choose : Know-me OR Hate-me

I am so sorry if my comments ever slaved your thoughts to make you feel low. You might be thinking why am I such a prick, why am I anything but any good, the fact is while you are thinking about what I do I aint thinking about you at all! I just want all readers here to remember, that this is MY blog, MY space, My thoughts, if you are not up to my language & frequency, jolly well evacuate from this window!

Again I say this is MY blog, so its MY thoughts , whatever I write here have NO slightest affliation with Focal Pro Audio Solutions. Print that thought onto your memory, Me and Focal Pro Audio has NO connections through this blog, I am Cookiss Not Focal Pro Audio, vice versa. I DO NOT represent anyone in Focal Pro Audio either! When I fault its my fault, its none of the studio's problemo.

However I am not an unreasonable person, if there are something I wrote in my blog that you dont like, give me valid reasons with enough courage and respect, I might just delete the post for you, if I like you. You can call me names just make sure I deserve that nickname you gave me more then yourself!

I see you with my little eye so therefore I thought and I wrote. You want me to change my opinions then use actions to convince me that I am wrong, dont sit there and talk rot coz if I dont like you, your words dont mean a thing to me. If you are on a flying ego trip, let me remind you , what goes up must come down, I have been there done that and waiting for more to come, because shitty peepz are everywhere.

I remember Wayne Thunder telling me this - People are entitled to their own opinions no matter how ridiculous they are I thought that was some words of wisdom from Mr Thunder! Coolness!

So its your choice now, Know-me Or Hate-me, simple, just let your brains do some exercise. I am uniquely annoying just like everyone else. Pro-choice , I am!

Goodbye Bobby

Bobby was found no able to stand on his own feet and someone sent him to the vet for him to be put down. He went away peacefully. I cant helped but to shed a tear when I heard this piece of news from Joyce from Wala.

I feel something missing without Bobby around, you can say I grew up with him, since teenage times I have seen him walking around Holland V. It like when I see him I will greet him. He is known as a Holland Dog, I did write a post about him not too long ago. I miss Bobby.

http://cookiss99.blogspot.com/2005/10/good-ol-bobby.html

This picture was taken during Bobby's happier times, Simon was feeding Bobby's fave food, satay.

Bobby Bobby, at least you left peacefully in the year of the Dog. Thanks for all the joy you brought me during this years, you will be very much missed by me. Everytime, when I go to Holland kopitiam, I will always remember you.

All doggies go to heaven, right? Goodbye Good Old Bobby.

Metal Or Mental Music?

Today I have a freakking hectic day, I have to wake Brandon up at 9am then meet him & War Ensemble at Hougang Mall at 2pm & they play at 6pm & I have to rush down to meet Mr Soosay and Maria and SaerZe & to watch The SunS last SG show.

War Ensemble gotto be the best local metal band I ever know, they are freakking tight, happening shit, they did Lamb Of God's covers, the vocalist is amazing manz, and he is only 19 years old. The gig MetalWars2 would have been a failure without War Ensemble

Let me speak my bit here about what I think of our local metal scene is like. To me , the metal scene as a whole is an utter dissappointment. Yes I am saying it once more, its disgusting. I am not talking about the musical side of metal, I am targetting at the people involved , band members in particular. When I went to MetalWars2, I see hatred amongst the bands, I am so damn glad I was with War Ensemble. As for some of the bands, both thumbs down on attitude. Learn how to separate your on-stage & off-stage persona.

( 2 Paragraphs here were taken out in respect of a friend's opinions )

Sorry I have to say this , if you have so much hatred in yourselves, please kill yourself, dont insult music with your inability to handle the chaos within yourselves. I sometimes wonder how you these kinda of subhuman can stand looking at yourselves in the mirror, try a reflection from a pool of urine, it might help you see better.

As for the real passionate metal scene peepz, power to Metal! I say power to War Ensemble \m/

VOIDECK Music

Met Dhany today at HMV with his girl & I thought I write something about VOIDECK.

Dhany and Rudi are brothers who handles a music label called VOIDECK. I respect these 2 brothers alot, despite being so occupied with their studies and full-time job, they still made an effort to promote the music they have. I can relate to this label the most, coz they are freakkin hardworking. I really do admire their perseverance.

Through VOIDECK I met band Tiramisu & I enjoyed their arty music & showmanship and this band never fail to bring a smile on my face! VOIDECK also introduced SG to some of the best Malaysian bands, like Love Me Butch , Furniture , Seven Collar T-shirt and many more. Not only VOIDECK brings in great music from great bands, they even organised gigs for these bands, promoting them even further.

VOIDECK has always set a good example for me never to give up in something you believe in. Thank you! I wish VOIDECK all the best and may they bring in more wonderful music! Check them out!

Today I saw stars around me again.. Cannot take it, too many talented people oredi. While I was trying to shake off the star-strucked shock I got from Jason Mraz with UnXpected doing the opening for him, during the intermission I saw Alfe, I saw Sophia from Pulse, then I went to Makan Sutra, and I saw Rivermaya, and then I saw Electrico, then I saw The SunS with Ronin. I went to ChinaOne and I saw Arron Jardin from Tabula & the rest of the SAE gang! Manz, I am really giddy, seeing all these stars.

Saw one old friend selling BBQ wings at makansutra too, I cant stop meeting people! Oh well that might not be a bad thing after all.

On my way home on NR8, I saw my good friend Jim! Seriously I really meet alot of people today! Oh yah and today is Ms Corny's birthday! Happy 24th birthday Vanessa!

Mosiac Festival - Ronin

Went to Esplanade gig to watch Pulse, Alwi from Rafe & Ronin.. someone please kill me, I missed Pulse's set coz there was a major jam at Esplanade!! Shit! But I managed to catch Alwi, he is just so cool, young and talented, only 19 years old manz and he writes incredible nice songs!

Then came Ronin, I think I sat too near them oredi, coz when Leevan ( the vocalist ) came by to my side to sing, I am actually quite scared, too near the rockstar liao, then all the fans jumping jumping all around me, I remained seated coz I was in shock! I got my toes all jumped on by fans.

Ronin is a good band, their song Black Maria went up to Perfect Ten Number one hit! Cheerios for local band!

In Love With Keong Saik Road

Was just wondering around Chinatown with Xun a couple of days ago. I decided to walk further down into Keong Saik Street to do some exploring, and because I was also trying to loiter around 29B.. heh.. I didnt managed to find 29B but the walk through Keong Saik was good. I found a unqiue new age bookstore & cafe, called www.WHATEVER.com.sg

Walking along re-made & re-designed pre-war houses was just good.. I like old things made new, and clever store owners & interior designers turn their space into a piece of art and opened for business.

There are also a couple of budget boutique hotels there, I have been to one to visit a friend who stayed there when she was in SG holidaying. The place is awesome, its called The Royal Peacock Hotel. Stroll along you will see Hotel1929 with their beautiful fusion see-thru lounge. You just walk pass the Keong Saik lane and you can feel this chinese heritage zen flowing through the air.

Somehow through that walk I feel a sense of inspirations overcoming me, encouraging me to move on with my passion. I am beginning to love Keong Siak Road.. That walk was magical!

I Found Mr Putra @ Esplanade

I was browsing through the flyers section @ Esplanade & I saw an eye-catching flyer.. and I also see someone familiar in that flyer! I see Mr Putra!! ( 2nd from left on the above flyer ) Ahhaa.. I don noe why I was just happy to see a familiar face at the flyer section, so I took one back home.

QUEENPING is presented by Esplanade & CAKE Theatrical Productions

In the bloodthirsty game of human ping-pong, only one can emerge victorious. The loser faces certain death. The queen bee sits on her throne. Watching with such intensity. She slips and slides. Watching. Watching. Her head turning on an axis, the bristles on her back erect, her sting so ready it's aching. Then... all... of... a... sudden... the a... g... o... n... i... s... i... n... g cry of defeat.

And it's all over.

The time has arrived.

The world has stopped for one person.

And the bitch begins to feast.

A deliciously dark, wickedly funny, totally irreverent piece of work, Queen Ping is about how power, identity, control and sexuality play out in the lives of four people whose paths connect and collide in present day reality and in the realm of dreams and fantasy.

Written and directed by Natalie Hennedige, performed by Michael Corbidge, Nora Samosir, Noorlinah Mohd and Rizman Putra, with multimedia designed by Brian Gothong Tan, lighting design by Suven Chan, and sound design by TINNIDUOS.

Queen Ping is part of Esplanade's Theatre Studio Season.

War Ensemble @ MetalWars2

WHoOo! War Ensemble gonna play live finally! I haven seen them played at any gigs before, this time I must go! Give Brandon, Justin & Jason support!! They are great musicians with passion.. thats admiring. War Ensemble is a good band, so if you have the time, dont miss the chance to watch them at Hougang, coz they rarely play at gigs. So if you dont catch them at Metal Wars 2, you have got to wait for a long long time before you can see them perform in any gigs again.

War Ensemble will be performing alongside with other metal bands. So do come down & show them your support!
